Helen Kang
Helen Kang has more than 20 years experience in technology change management. Helen led the Product Digitisation of Telstra Digital, responsible for strategy development and execution of the digital program of work for Telstra’s consumer products, with line management of 20 project managers, business analysts and change managers and a capital budget in excess of $30m. She executed the program of work delivering cost savings of $50m per annum to the consumer business. Helen also created the Global Enterprise Services Digital Strategy, which covered Telstra’s enterprise suite of products and set the strategic direction and priority initiatives to build out the digital capability for Telstra’s global enterprise customers.
Helen also has extensive experience across Strategy and Operations, conducting strategy development and implementing reporting and analytics for the enterprise market at Telstra. She led a strategic review of Telstra’s extensive Partner and Dealer channel and recommended an online Partner Portal which was subsequently built and created an online ordering capability resulting in a reduction of claims on dealer commissions by over 50%, increasing online orders and reducing rework. She also created the Market Book for the enterprise product set, which became the authoritative source for market share and competitive information for the industry (as used by Gartner), and referred to across the company and externally in the market.
Helen has deep experience in online transformation of businesses, working since 2009 in driving online capabilities into the Telstra product development cycle, and driving IP operational readiness programs across the enterprise business with a focus to bring online capabilities to the customer.
More recently, Helen has started an online business of her own, establishing a premium leather goods e-commerce pure-play specialising in tech accessories for women. From product conception to sourcing to production to establishing and maturing an online presence with distribution into various online marketplaces, Helen has enjoyed creating the user experience and marketing through online and social channels and providing excellent customer service and care.
